In this role, you’ll take significant ownership of technical decisions, collaborate closely with product, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver exciting new opportunities. The opportunityCollaborate with designers and product managers to understand business needsWork jointly with devOps all along the software development lifecycle from the writeup of technical specifications in the form of RFCs, to feature development and testing.Develop and maintain services that power onchain experiences.Integrate 3rd party APIs and multiple blockchain networks into our products.Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability scalable applicationsWrite reusable, testable, and efficient codeCreate optimized database schemasMentoring of engineers and contribution to hiringSkills you should HODL5+ years of full-time engineering experience within a large technology organization or fast growing startupExperience working with blockchain technology and DeFiExperience building backend services with Node.js, TypescriptExperience building and maintaining high volume production quality applications using React or React Native, with good knowledge of state management and client side systems designExperience working with GraphQL, SQL, RESTful APIs and WebSocketsGood understanding of best practices with version control and continuous integration.Solid understanding of engineering and design principles behind distributed and scalable applicationsUnderstanding user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environmentsClear passion for both Software Engineering and CryptoTake complete end-to-end ownership of tasks.This job is accepting ongoing applications and there is no application deadline.Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.Kraken is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate all Krakenites for their diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions and unique perspectives.
